The Eco Committee at Albany have been meeting regularly again this year discussing issues regarding the environment and ways that they can improve various matters.
The members decided to rename the Eco Committee as I.C.E. (Important Committee for the Environment).
ICE is made up of pupils from Year 2 to Year 6.

ECO CODE COMPETITION
I.C.E. are currently running a competition for a new eco code. An eco code can take the form of a poem, song or simply a poster. The eco code should contain an important message about the environment. I.C.E. have shared examples of eco codes in a KS2 assembly and many children have already entered, producing some super pieces. I.C.E. will be judging the entries and choosing a winner during the week beginning 27th March so there is still time to create a winning entry!!
The Action Plan
I.C.E. completed an 'Environmental Review' at the beginning of the year. The review allowed the pupils to identify main issues that they consider to be important at Albany and form the basis of our Action Plan for the year. The Action Plan for this year is very busy as we are aiming towards Eco schools Platinum Status.
