Some children from year 5 have been working with Mr Howlett on a project to research the history of Albany Primary School. So far we have been on two visits to Glamorgan Archives and looked into the logbooks from 1887-1914. This has been fascinating and the children have enjoyed using their reading skills to see what school was like over 100 years ago. We have also looked at maps from the time and even found the agreement form the landowner to sell 1 acre of land to the Cardiff School Board for £3000. The children have really enjoyed being historians and learning about 'their school'. We look forward to continuing the project as the term goes on.
