Pwy ydyn ni?  Who are we?

We are the Criw Cymraeg for Albany Primary School and our aim is to encourage our pupils and promote the use of Welsh within our school community.

What do we do?

-We meet weekly to share ideas and discuss ways to reach our targets for the Cymraeg Campus Bronze Award.

-We role model the Brawddeg yr Wythnos.

-We choose a Seren yr Wythnos and present the award in our weekly assembly.

-We contribute and help to arrange Welsh celebration days.

Criw Cymraeg Albany

Why is it important to learn Welsh?

  • why-we-learn-welsh.ppt
This year we have introduced Criw Cymraeg at Albany. This is a pupil voice group who are promoting the use of Welsh Language across the school. They have been presenting Seren Yr Wythnos awards in our praise assembly to pupils and staff who have been seen having conversations in Welsh around the school. Every week during assembly Criw Cymraeg introduce a new phrase/conversation for the week and children and staff use this around the school. The pictures below show some of our winners so far.
SHWMAE DAY - October 15th
On Tuesday 15th October we celebrated Shwmae day. This gave us a great opportunity to promote Welsh across the school. The children and staff also wore red, white and green. Criw Cymraeg also held an open morning for parents to launch Cymraeg Campus bronze award and celebrate Shwmae day with parents. Thank you to Criw Cymraeg for your hard work and to everyone who attended. Diolch pawb!
