Aims

To do our best to make sure that everyone is happy and feels like they belong in Albany.

Make sure that everybody has healthy food and lots of opportunities to be active.

Happy Health Ministers & Committee

The Happy Health committee met on Friday 18th October. They decided upon their aims for the year ahead. The children discussed ways in which they can promote healthy eating and active lifestyles in the school. They also talked about how important it is that children feel safe and happy in school and how they could promote positivity and happiness in the school.

In January the Happy Health committee created a joke board and displayed it in the school corridor outside the school hall. The children had lots of fun making the board and we are hopeful that it will give the children a giggle as they walk around the school.

Creating our joke board

The happy health committee have also agreed to work alongside the Rights Raccoons and Mr Barrett in working towards the Schools of Sanctuary award. Find out more about the award here https://schools.cityofsanctuary.org/
Handwashing - February 2020
During February 2020 the Happy Health committee have been working with Miss Alsept using the glitterbugs kit to promote hand washing across the school.

ANTI-BULLYING AMBASSADOR UPSKILL TRAINING - January 2017

This year we have added some new members to our Anti Bullying Ambassador team. They recently attended upskill training and are continuing to support children at playtimes and make out playground a happier and safer place to be.

Anti-Bullying Ambassador training - Worcester - March 2016

In November 2015 some pupils went to see Mr Howlett after seeing a video about Anti-Bullying Ambassadors online. They thought it could be something that would be great for Albany and asked if they could be introduced. After some research into the role of Anti-Bullying Ambassadors we have decided to introduce them to Albany. Children in years 3-5 had the opportunity to apply for this role and explain why they think they would be a good Ambassador. There were a very high number of applications and eventually 12 Ambassadors were selected.

Last Thursday the Ambassadors attended the Anti-Bullying Ambassador training at Bishop Perowne School in Worcester. This was a very exciting day for the children and they learnt about the role of an ambassador and carried out a number of activities and role-plays to prepare them for the role. The children are now going to produce an action plan showing how to effectively introduce this new pupil voice group in Albany. The Anti-Bullying Ambassador programme is part of the Diana Trust.
