Yesterday we brought our whole school Welsh Week to an end with a wonderful Eisteddfod to celebrate St David's Day. Throughout the week the children have been participating in a number of competitions both in and out of the classroom to win points for their house teams, Dyfed, Gwent, Gwynedd and Powys. There have been writing, art, dance and music competitions to name but a few. Yesterday brought the children together in a whole school celebration full of Welsh singing and performances. Children performed their dances and played their musical instruments in front of the whole school. It was great to see the children cheering their friends on whilst wearing their new house t-shirts. At the end of the Eisteddfod was the traditional Crowning of the Bard ceremony. The Eisteddfod was eventually won by Powys but well done to all children on your hard work and beautiful singing throughout the week. Thank you to the staff for organising such a wonderful Welsh event for us at Albany.
