It's been another busy week in Albany this week. On Monday classes 1 and 2 walked to the park and collected many leaves and twigs. This was a very exciting adventure for the children as it was their first trip of the year. Year 1 visited Roath Police Station on Tuesday to find out what happens in a real police station. Our community police officers also visited the children later in the weekto help them further with their new topic.
Our Harvest celebration took place on Friday morning. All of the children took part in this and classes performed songs and poems with a Harvest theme. The Foundation Phase Harvest festival took place first and we were very proud of the Nursery who came in to assembly for the first time. They sat beautifully throughout and performed their song with real confidence after only 4 weeks in school. The Juniors followed and the children enjoyed singing all of the Harvest songs they had been learning.
Thank you very much for the generous contributions for the Harvest festival. The food is being delivered to the Huggard Centre this week. The Huggard centre is a Cardiff based charity tackling homelessness that has a day centre and a hostel. Our donations will be greatly appreciated.
